I tried searching but didn't find a definite answer. I have a 2011 FLHX and am looking to upgrade the headlight to a brighter/whiter bulb. Any idea what bulb it takes? Is it a common bulb that I can find at an auto store?
Don't want to upgrade to an LED headlight, just want a better quality bulb.
Thanks!
Also, if you have any recommendations please let me know!

its a h4 ,look at rally lights.com,they have an e code headlight housing for around 30$ its a huge improvement over stock, and they carry a huge selection of bulbs,be warned most high perf bulbs will not last long on a harley,u can also look at upping the wattage stock is 55\65 a few have used 80/100, i went with a 55\ 100 and mostly run low beam but upped the wattage on my passing lamps.
You can upgrade the bulb, but it won't make as much difference as upgrading the lens like bigdumbnoitall00 mentioned. The newer lenses have a small reflector that messes up the light pattern. Get a new lens, http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=350 for $38 AND a bulb, you won't believe the difference. One of the better upgrades I have done....
