Yeah, I felt a tinge of guilt posting, mainly because she really does love riding with me - it's just different riding 2-up. Guess if I did it more often I'd get used to it. I am still not buying damn headsets for her and I though, despite the fact she is always bugging me about it
I bought my old lady a bike just so I wouldn't have to put her on the back. The kids like to go for rides. The boy is 7 and he is pretty good at highway speeds so I don't mind him back there. The girl is 3. So I put her in front and just idle around town with her.
So no I don't like a full grown passenger. I make exceptions for the kids.
I like both ways. Just the guys only in a group is cool, but if I was fortunate enough to have someone, and she happened to love riding, I would welcome the company. I love touring with someone on the back. Thats why I'm sticking with Touring bikes, Strip em down for solo, or dress em up for two. They both work for me.

If you interrupt your wife enough when she is talking, she will enjoy riding the bike with out talking to you. The main reason my wife rides with me is cause she doesn't have to communicate verbally. Just poking me in the ribs and upside my helmet. After 30 years it is a good form of communication. Specially as the loud pipes decrease my hearing.
Cheryl is a tiny thing. I hardly know she's back there except for the neck rubs. Plus she's the on-board photographer, stewardess, disc jockey, navigator, etc. I much prefer when she's along.
