Trying to remove adj pushrod ro change a pushrod tube cant get it to come loose going to have to cut it what adj pushrods are user freindly because these are not
I thought there was some concern about the lock nuts cracking under torque on this kit? I believe that some folks are replacing those nuts with some higher quality grade 8 nuts. There are a few threads somewhere on this if you (op) care to search.
Three full turns will probably work better. This puts them right at .130" in, Comp Cams says the cylinders grow about .080" when they get to running temp with little growth in the pushrods. So when you get to operating temps you are still .050" in with three full turns.
how finicky is the adjustment on these?, theu say 2 and 1 half turns after all free play is removed
Just did cams SE255 and new lifters (small block Chevy) and SE tapered push rods. Had to go to 3 1/2 turns to make em quiet. I tried the 2 1/2 turns as suggested but I still had chattering noise.

Reason: spelling
You have .200" to play with. 2.4 turns is right at .100" or half way. 4.8 turns is going to be .200" or completely collasped. So 3.5 turns is probably a little much, but as long as you're not racing it all will be well. I'd try three turns first, if that isn't quiet go to another half. 3.5 would have to be max.
I went 3 turns with those SE Quick Install Tapered, PN18404-08 pushrods on the 2009 96" TC when I did my cam install.
All good now, but I wouldn't use those PR's again. Three of the four loosened up on me in 30 miles and had to redo-- used red locktite the 2nd time so far so good.
I did install them in accordance with the instructions for tightening the locknuts btw.
