Default Bringing the bars back?

I need to bring the bars back about 1-2 inches for a more relaxed, straight up ride. I have lower back problems. Will the HD bars require any new cables? I dont want to move up on the tank any. My dad's Ultra Classic sits him wayyy up on the tank and I hate that.

I've heard that you can also torch the stock bars and get them back further? I might be swayed to do that, but I want to keep the same ergonomics of the bars...

Any ideas?

I just recently went with the HD Touring Pull Back Handlebar #56176-08 and I'm very pleased. I replaced the clutch cable with HD clutch cable #38649-08 which is a 3+ cable. Your other lines will be fine, no replacing.
You'll read here where some used the stock cable but had to reroute and some said it was tight. You'll soon hear from many others on your question.

I have the WO's 575 on order and waiting for them to get here. I didn't want anything to extreme I am like you just needed up and back a little bit. these are up 2 in. and back 2 in. I also went with a +4 clutch cable so as not to reroute it. From what I read all other wires will be fine. I will repost after the install this weekend.

Have you tried adjusting the bars you already have? That may just do the trick.

Exactly what I did to my bike. What I found (and it's been the same on test bikes I have ridden) is that for some reason stock bars are commonly fitted with the grips up high. If you release the clamp screws (helps to have a helper, to stop the bars flopping) and gently rotate the bars towards you, the grips will also drop and the angle you hold them improves and gets more comfortable.

I also went with the wild ones 575 and they made a huge difference for me. it brought the bars up 2" and to me 2". I'm more comfortable now and relaxed instead of tense meaning scrunching my shoulders, which at first didn't bother me but on long rides it did. My indy did the install and I told him if the cables need to be changed do it if not no big deal. He didn't have to change anything except rerouting them. I tried to find people to see how they looked and felt but never could find anybody that had them so I took the chance and it worked out to my favor.

I have the HD pull back bars and they did not require any new cables/parts to install them. You do have to re-route the clutch cable and it is long enough. There posts in this forum.

+1 on the wild one WO575. expect to lose 1/3 of the lower inside of stock mirrors on SG. clean look with inside wiring and beefy 1 1/4 bar looks good. you get used to the wider bar.

Had a chance to look at the HD pullback on a display rack both before and after install of wo575. The HD is narrower and the stated pullback is partially achieved by angle of grip area which I find uncomfortable/unnatural.
