There ain't no way a battery under 2 years old should loose cold crank like that. Take it out on the highway for about 30-45 minutes ... like the man said, you got to get that stator cranked up.
If you have been doing that, something is defective and should be covered by your warranty.
he said he has had the battery for 3-1/2 years.
check with battery mart (batteries plus, battery warehouse, etc) and get a deka ETX30L. same battery, without the hd badging.
If you live near Chesapeake I have all the cht to test it. It's gonna be 58 one day next week. Send me a PM. I hate buying a new battery when you don't need it.
Thanks for the offer Iron Butt, i have a friend that can do it for me just haven't gotten him over here yet . As far as riding it to charge the battery im trying to get the gas tank empty so i can take it off to paint and its almost there so i dont want to take it out on the road, that Ultra is a little to heavy to push LOL

I got over 7 out of my original and never put a charger on it. Screwy thing about batteries ... you just don't know how long they will last. But I do know this, they last longer if you get some highway mileage a few times a month.
Just had to do mine, 98RK battery was HD put in 9/2010. Symptoms of starting right after a charge but dying in a day. Charged up, put a carbon pile tester and it showed good. Would hold an ok voltage but would crap out when the starter was engaged. I thought maybe a starter? Took the battery and had a computer test station put it through it's paces, said it was good, no faults, no plate issues, everything A-OK. Bought another one anyhow and no problems (with the power) since.
Got mine from Batteries+ same manufacturer as HD batteries, FULL 2 year replacement warrantee, cost me $134 and I kept the core (in case it was usable for something else, like 12v power in the garage). HD gives you 6 month replacement and 12 month pro-rate for a $180 battery.
Batteries+ will give you 10% off for being a vet or 10% off for owning a HD bike (but not both)
I might have tried one of these, if I'd had someone to recommend them or an extra few $$ to gamble http://www.ballisticparts.com/ look really interesting
Here's the deal, i can put the battery tender on until the green light comes on, the bike cranks but slowly so i run it for about 30min's and shut it down, come back out to the garage 3 days later and try to start bike without the tender being on it and it turns over so slowly that it wont start, so i take the battery to 2 places to have it tested both say it's good, all wire connections seem to be good an tight. What do ya think do i need a new one? It's 3 1/2 years old!!
