i tried the Harley get a grip and took them off after a week. They made my hands tingle. I now have PM grips and I am very happy. they are worth the few extra dollars.
Prior to the Harley grips i tried Kury's ISO grips but didn't like them because they were to fat for my hands.
Go with the PM's.
I have the PM contours and could not be happier. They are made of billet aluminum, I'm not sure about the HD get a grips, but some of their other grips are chrome plastic. The PMs are also aluminum under the rubber grip part and I'm not sure if the avons are, I think I remember reading somewhere that they were just metal on the ends with only rubber in the middle.
I do agree that the HD grips have the advantage in installing the left grip, as they use the switch housing to hold them down. The avon's use glue (as do most after market grips), and the PMs use two set screws. You are required to drill two little dimples in the bar.
I have an 06 electra glide classic, so before the days of TBW, and I installed heat demons when I installed the grips. This was another one of those "don't know what I did without them" mods.
Get a Grips are so easy to install a CAVEMAN can do it.
All other grips require glue and some extra effort to put on. HD's require no skill.
Just installed the hd get a grips and couldn't be happier. They fit my hands well, and install is easy as no glue required. When i need to change or swap it will be easier to do.
If you go with H-D Get-A-Grip check that you orient the throttle grip correctly so that the embossed bar and shield is right side up!. While the left grip only goes on one way, the throttle grip can be installed so that the logo position doesn't match the left grip.
Just installed the hd get a grips and couldn't be happier. They fit my hands well, and install is easy as no glue required. When i need to change or swap it will be easier to do.
