Easyglide,

I had stock pipes and replaced them with the 2007 H-D Screamin Eagle Touring Slip-ons. Also had the SE Air Cleaner added along with the Stage 1 Download (Stage 1 Remap or whatever they call it--cost $150.). Did not have to add a Power Commander or SE Race Tuner since the Stage 1 map is set-up for the the exact combo of SE Air Cleaner and SE Mufflers I bought. I'm sure it's still going to run lean but the bike ran perfect before the changes (just wanted more sound) and figured why not add the SE A/C to get about 12% more power (advertised) with the SE set-up.

Get the older version slipons if after performance and not just sound. The new versioners fall on their face at 4500rpms.

Pitguy,

Then I'd have to get a SERT or PC III. Really wanted to do the SERT(with different pipes) but dealer does mostly PC's and has only done a couple a SERT's (not sure I believe them). They didn't sound comfortable doing a SERT and pushed the PC.

Both systems are very good.My main reason for staying away from SERT is the software is always changing, which is good and bad cause a system is only as good as the guy tuning it.For basic upgrades its kinda overkill in my view. The PC111s are more user friendly for most backyard tuners w/basic upgrades.Alot of dealers will tune both systems, most independants wont touch a SERT.Remember the new SE slipons are still EPA compliant and thus arent the greatest if performance is wanted,PC111 or SERT tuned.Warranty plays into this of course but if they stand behind the SERT they should stand behind slipons. Its a dealer/customer thing in most areas. You know what you want out of your bike, ask around cause many have upgraded.Do what you feel you can live with. Ok Im ready to be abused!

I agree, mine on the dyno failed short at 72 HP and the power just dropped off, straight down the graph. I do have the PCIII from fuelmoto and the SE AC with the KN filter. With the older pipes it does pull real strong so the dyno should show better results...

The older versions are wayyy louder than the 07 versions, complete difference

Don't disagree with you. I do a lot of touring and really didn't want to add one more component (PC III) into the mix. Having said that and since my dealer isn't experienced enough with the SERT's (yet), if I do make a change next season, I'll go to the PC III from Jamie at Fuel Moto.

BTW...My 07 stock bike has plenty of power... I had 2000 Softail Twin Cam 88 (35,000 miles) ...with a Stage 1 upgrade and my 07 Road Glide would blow it's doors off.....bone stock!!! Just want to reduce the heat and get a little more sound.

Does anyone know if the street perf touring pipes have cat converters in them? I picked up a set of takeoffs from a 2007rosd king cvo, 4in. two piece pipe and it has the converters in them, and was wondering if the converters will hurt performance ?
