Think Star Trek cloaking technology here that basically makes you invisible.
Yes, they have hidden motorcycle applications, and yes, they are fricking expensive!

I have to say I'm highly curious of this unit, though I have no need to spend the almost $800 for it. Over the years of working on military bases and even a tour in a security billet. I can tell you with the right jammer any sort of speed trap radar, laser can be defeated. As anyone knows the use of simple radar detectors took awhile to become unlawful in use for some states. With Radar/Laser jammers law enforcement seemed to move with a quickness to make them illegal

"The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates the frequencies used by radar guns. It is a federal offence to broadcast using an unlicensed device on all police radar frequencies. The penalty can be $50,000 and/or five years in prison. Do you really think the FCC will approve a license to a radar jammer? Not likely.

Additionally, the FCC -- using their ability to regulate marketing -- has made it illegal to even advertise radar jammers."

Now something rather odd to consider, 1'st is a pain to get radar/laser to "paint" a motorcycle in motion because the lack of surface area and the officers ability to not "over shoot" the motorcycle and "paint" another object. Normally though motorcycle tickets tend to be issued by VASCAR / distance math as cited earlier.

Another fun oddity,
When in Corpus I was pulled over because my 'Busa, I was not speeding 1st and foremost it was more of a rep type of bike had at the time. I had a lot of carbon fiber body parts , plus it was lowered. Riding late night SPID I was pulled over because several patrols had passed via radio there was a motorcycle speeder heading southbound. I was pulled over, no issues but was informed by the officer that neither the DUI check point, or the 5 other patrols I had passed were able to get "any radar speed" on my bike. The officer did a very COMPLETE look over my bike looking for any sort of jammer/device that may of been jamming them. (which there was none) Other race bikes I know of have been told the same thing.

I can attest to the fact nothing beats the good ol fashion radio/CB. Can't outrun it and hate to listen in because of the chatter.

my job makes me commute a couple hundred miles a day and i run a valentine 1 radar detector , yes it works , yes it picks up laser , yes if it goes off it is for real not a false , so the cop trying to say they dont work is full of it ...now it costs around 400$ but that includes lifetime software upgrades and like i said it works probably saved me thousands in tickets .

You and most others probably know that your 75 on a HD is really 72 at best on 99% of the modern HD's out there.

Just find it funny that you would mention and reminds me of the "lawbreaking gang" I ride with. None of them would dare listen to a radio, gps or have any other piece of technolgy.
When I 1st joined this gang they told me "we ride 5 over". At the end of that first day I explained to them that my gps is indicating 72 and less. After a spirited conversation, I said there is a reason all those old folks in the RVs are passing us.

Simple test. Get a buddy, family member LEO and go out in middle of nowhere. Drive toward them at your own predetermined speed. Slow down immediately when your detector goes active. I guarantee you that they have the same speed you were traveling when the detector went off...

That would help to 'plain why I've never even come close to getting a speeding ticket.

An old 1960 Jaguar I used to own I knew I was doing 70 when the Lucas speedometer wagged between 60 & 80. You just picked the number in the middle and it was right every time!

I agree with others, you are not going to beat lasers. That being said, I have a couple of "Whistler" basic radar detectors that alert me often of small town cops hid up the road or just over a rise, or on the road coming toward me. They also have laser alert, a high pitch sound that means "ticketed". Mine have saved me many times, got from Walmart for around $70. No need to "Show them off" by sticking up high on the windshield, mine works fine on the left bottom of the windshield stuck and resting pointed at 11 o'clock. Used on the bike a few times, but are always on in my other rides. Mounting them high and in sight is not really wise, my .02.

I agree. You would not be able to defeat
Laser with a basic Whistler radar detector. You need specialized units like the "Blinder" designed especially for that purpose.

Exactly. RADAR detectors work fine as long as their are cars in front of you to be tracked first. If you are the only car or bike around and a properly trained operator hits you with an instant on RADAR your caught.

The poster that said bikes are hard to hit with LASER ? Think again, the headlight on any bike is nothing but a HUGE reflector for the LASER beam. My LASER has cross hairs like a rifle scope and I can easily hit bikes 2500 to 3000 feet away, on flat terrain. The LASER also tells me the exact distance as well as speed.

The fastest bike I ever tracked was a Hyabusa on I-75 outside Atlanta at 147 MPH.

I could tell you how to do a clean install, inside the faring, with either one of the two best detectors in the world, but save your money and keep the speed at a reasonable level. We all get the fast bug every now and then, but kidding yourself into thinking that you are under control at 80 plus on the public right of way reflects a serious lack of judgement...not to mention a total lack of concern for others that share that public right of way. Sorry for the Safety Sam speech, but that's how it is.
