Same exhaust pipes year in and out? Hey, this is a bigger motor? But the pipes haven change? Should we wait? Is Vances & Hines plan on making slip ons just for the 96 cu? You dont put a muffler for a 4 banger on a V8!
Any answers?

ElectaRick,

Another big plus with the Rush mufflers are that the baffles are removable so if the 1.75 baffle isn't loud enough you can get and install the 2.0 baffles (I think they're around $50.00-$60.00).

put V&H Ovals on my '07 UC with a 96 ci. definately louder than the SE IIs on my '06 Dyna with a 88 c.i. but, i can still hear the radio, and do like them. was concerned before i bought them that they would be too loud, but they are ok and the wife even gives a thumbs up from the back.

don't see V&H making a new muffler for the 96 ci. 8 ci isn't really that much bigger than an 88, except for bragging rights.

D, your exhausts sound nice, but may be a little too loud for me. Maybe when I can hear them on a local bike I can better judge it.

Sounds like the Rush slipons with the 1.75 baffe may be a way to go.

I am going to make a few calls and see if I can get some more definitive idle and rollon decibel levels--if I can, I will share with the forum.

I have the SE II 07 slip on's, they are equal to stock exhaust. They quote 3db louder than stock..THEY ARE and are VERY quiet.

My bud has VH slip on's, his exhaust is loud, but I can here his radio and my radio while traveling along side each other.

I just thought about this....[8D] I need to test ride his bike.........[8D]

Easyglide and ElectRICK,

If either of you guys go with the Rush Slip-ons with the 1.75 baffle and the Power Commander from Jamie at Fuel Moto, let me know how it turns out. I'll probably go that route too.

Email me at: gow6580@comcast.net

Good Luck!

You really have to hear and compare them yourself and just remember to do it outside. Inside a shop can drastically change the sound. It's really a personal thing too. One persons loud is another persons quite. Do your homework!

I put V&H true duals and Screaming Eagle mufflers. Louder than stock. At highway speeds it is loud enough to keep the mike keyed if I have the intercom on so my wife and I can talk to each other. Also keep in mind that if your are doing any long touring the noise maybe enough to effect your hearing if not protected. I have a consistent ringing in my ears from years of being around loud noise and not wearing the proper hearing protection. It is worse after riding long trips. The ringing will never go away. Something to think about.

I tried B&E super flow 2' and sound is great, deep, and smoth.
I read on the forums that this guy was tested by the troopers and they came in at 96db.
I have a SPL meter and I concur, at $150.00 of ebay they are the best value I found.
