Finally.....
I hit a deer on a trip from Austin, Texas up to Yellowstone back in October. It happend in the Texas Panhandle. After replacing some lights and patching the tourpack I was able to finish my trip. The bike has been in the shop since November, mostly due to delays in working with the insurance company, adjuster and dealer. Total damage was around $3600 - lightbar, lights, fairing lower, grip, seat, tourpack, backrest, and a few other things. The bike isn't even a year old and only has 10,000 miles, so I'm glad the dealer went over it top to bottom (the adjuster missed a lot).
Anyway, I finally got the call that my bike is ready. I've been going crazy the past few months. I had a week off over the Christmas holiday but didn't feel like going anywhere without the bike. Same deal on the weekends, my second love is firearms so I've at least had a lot of time to go to the range
.
I just wanted to tell some people who understand what it's like that I'm excited as hell to pick the bike up tomorrow.
Oh, and try to avoid hitting a deer if you can
.
