Lots of penetrating oil, and start trying to make small circles with the end of the muffler. Every once in a while, try to turn it on the pipe, then circles again. Dont be afraid to get rough with it. You aint gonna hurt it...

you can use a good heat gun to swell the muffler end over the pipe then twist and pull. works very well.

Good advice....I'm getting ready to put new pipes on my bike in the next week or so. I was told it's important to get new clamps when you change out the pipes. If you don;t you risk your pipes blueing.

One thing to remember, when you finally get the mufflers off and before you put the new ones on go to the auto store and get yourself some high temperature never seize. Then put a generous coating on the pipe where the muffler goes on and some inside the muffler. Then when you have to remove the muffler at a later date you won't have this problem. Good luck!

If you CAN'T get the mufflers off, can you get the whole header pipe with muffler attached off?
