Believe it or not but window cleaner works great, just spray it into the joint and wiggle the muffler up and down and back and forth and keep spraying. It worked for me.

I used a rubber mallet on the raised weldedattachment at the rear of the mufflers where they attach to the saddlebag guards. Tap them a few times, then wiggle the end, repeat until they free up.

AHH: LOL, I spent the better part of 5 years in Alaska. One of the first things I learned there was the use of WD-40 on all Salmon lures. When I returned to Las Vegas, I tried WD-40 on my Largemouth Bass plastic worms while fishing in Lake Mead. I always caught the most fish using WD-40!

I keep some in the shop for cleaning hands. It is a great solvent to clean the grease and muck off my hands before going inside and using Lava soap to finish up. .................. BC

PB Blaster is good, but KROIL is about the best. You will have to find a distributor or check on internet for information. Slip ons have small slash cuts that sometimes need to be gently bent out. It does take somepatience and working in a small circle from the back works. It does not help to yank and pull, just smooth steady pressure and movement on the slip ons. Good idea to spray the penetrating oil on about 20 minutes before you actually begin the removal process, gives it time to work in.
Good Luck !

PB Blaster did the trick for me. Just apply wherethe mufflers and header pipe meet, wait about 20 minutes, twist whilepulling.
