Smile wooooooooooooo!!!!

hi everyone still new to posting on the forum but have read and learned alot so far!

i got my first harley last year a brand new sedona orange flhr.. later last year i scored a new job and can now afford to mod my bike.. so far i've installed a quick disconnect backrest for my girlfriend, a set of se255 cams, a stage one air kit, just ordered my rinehart classic duals like five minutes ago, my girlfriend got me the ultimate engine kit from boogy lights for valentines day, and hopefully tomorrow i'll be calling jamie at fuel moto to get my power vision.. im freaking stoked!! woo!!

up next i'm gonna switch to a street glide seat and figure out something to lower my bike.. i love the streetglide seat i just wonder if the suspension will interchange the flhr is a bit too tall for me but the streetglide is perfect i love the height and stance of the bike.. maybe someone can help with that idea

also does anyone know a very ballpark figure of what hp and tq numbers i will be getting with a tune from jamie.. i know every bike is different but just a rough idea would be nice.. thanks!

Jimmie

It's a great lookin' motorcycle and you're real fortunate to be able modify it. Regarding the suspension, H-D has a lowering kit. Maybe another option is to install 1'' shorter rear shocks like a Street Glide.

A complete Stage 1 on my 2010 Street Glide (96" engine) using a V&H 2-1 Pro Pipe dynoed at 72 H.P. and 85 ft. lbs. torque. I do not know what a cam will add, but I know someone on this forum has done what you're about to do, so the info should be forthcoming.

A Road King is King of the Road. Have fun with it and be safe.

so the only difference bewteen a sg and rk.. atleast for the back suspension is a one inch lower shock?.. also i have a friend with a 2011 sg i believe he is changing his rear shocks so i might be able to get his for little to nothing.. will the factory shocks interchange between the bikes?

ya try the street glide shocks are you lowering it to get your feet flat on the ground ? or for looks . i am verticaly challenged . first thing i did was send my stock seat to MeanCity to have it lowered and narrowed turned out great way cheaper than buying a new seat

both.. i think the streetglide has a better stance and i'm pretty vertically challenged myself i may also be able to get the stock seat from my same friend who i'm gonna get the shocks from so if the parts will interchange i'll be out very little cash and eliminate guess work as to weather the parts will give me the look and function i'm going for.. like i said the streetglide is a near perfect fit for me

Yeah the Street glide shocks will lower it one inch but they ride like crap. I put Street Glide shocks on my 07 Road King. I regret it and just ordered a set of Ohlins shocks to replace them.

I have a set of like new LA Choppers lowering blocks that will work on your bike. With the lowering blocks you get another one inch lower. They mount to the rear shock mounts and move your mounting points one inch lower. PM me if your interested in the lowering block, I'll sell them to you cheap. if your friend falls through on the Street Glide shocks you can have mine for free if you pay the shipping. I would not feel right selling those piece of crap shocks to anyone.

The stock sg shocks are not good the only way to get mine to stop bottoming out 2 up was max air they would not hold air checked everywhere for leaks went with progressive 940 if you are wanting to lower back they make a lowering kit

haha pics of the girlfriend will follow.. while the streetglide shocks may not be the best if i can get them for free i'll take em for the time being.. i'm all tapped with all the stuff ive been buying lately.. also with the lowering blocks.. i heard they don't work so well something about they hold the shocks at the wrong angle and let all the air leak out.. anyone heard anything like that?
