Thanks you guys. I definatly plan on testing both. I have limited riding experience and none on a touring bike. However, I like the look of the SG much more then RG or anyother bike with the Sharknose. Sounds like a better windshield is going to be top priority! I guess I was asking if its more like speed wobble or if its just the wind in the face... Just looking for info on it.

Crosswind & or semi's in the crosswind effect will make me dive under the windshield do too the blast. I've mitigate this by getting Vampire defectors. Also a 10" LSR recurve shield. Still happens on high x-wind days.

By the way, Welcome from Chicago! When I didn't have any shield I only had to deal with the debris, only super-strong headwinds killed me.

Shields are nice over-all.

The correct windshield is key for sure, i bought my SG used it came with a 6" klockwerks but the wind hits me in the forehead and vibrates my glasses,I thought Klockwerks were supposed to be the answer,i had a used 8" smoked clearview brand and it works much better but deffinitly takes away from the look.i just tested this today!!! between the two.

I don't have a huge problem with wind on my glide. Worst is when passing big trucks. I manage the exposure by going into 5th and rolling it on to get by them faster. Recurved windshields help. Never ridden a Road Glide by I would love to.

Take one of each for a test ride and post your opinion.

Dude, put your concern to rest. It is nothing to worry about or even mention in my book.

You will love the glide. Have fun and ride safe!

Dude, make the decision easy and get a King! And windshields are overrated! I love the breeze in my face and I've been stung by a bee with a windshield on.

I still have the factory tiny windshield on mine, and do get a little buffeting, but I do not think it's any worse than riding a bike with no windshield, where the wind just beats you up all over. I also mitigate the buffeting from big trucks with a quick twist of the throttle and the 103" motor does the rest.

I've been fighting this issue as well. Ben E's comment about a Road King is certainly worth exploring. I own a Street Glide with a worthless 6"screen and the under triple tree baffle. No joy. I frequently travel to SoCal and rent bikes when there. Out of the 3 bikes I've rented, a Street Glide, an Ultra, and a Road King, the Road King buffeted the least. That doesn't mean it didn't buffet, it did. My previous ride, a Softail Fatboy Lo, had a windshield that beat me to death. I installed the fork mounted wind deflectors and the improvement was astounding. It's the next addition to my SG.
