Hi folks.. I thought I posted this yesterday but cannot find it.. that was after the Glenfiddich.
Does anyone have any experience with their bike pulling one way or the other? When I let my bars go, she'll drift left and I want her to go straight.
This started after I had my front bearings replaced last year at the dealer.
I am also getting a little front end wobble in the sweeps at about 30mph.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Whiskers
I can make my bike go left, right, or straight by moving the clutch cable up or down in the clamp on the fork leg. Try it and see what happens. It's free.
+1 on the saddle bag causing drifting. I had my left bag loaded up (leathers, rain suits, allen wrench and cheap wrench set) because I usually put my computer bag for work in the right bag. One day I didn't bring my computer home from work and took the long way home and noticed it wanting to drift a little, not too much but I noticed. Balanced it out and problem went away.
My 11 SG doesn't track straight and you wouldn't know it unless you go no hands. A little lean to the right and it's all good. Id go with uneven weight distribution in the bags.
Thanks for the replies. And yes, I did check the tire pressure, and that checks out and I'll be emptying the bags before heading to the shop and see how that goes. I'm not too worried about the drift, but the damn wobble is bugging me. I can only see the bars wobble at 30 with no hands and figure, wtf, who rides with no hands, but.. in the tight turns at 30 I can really feel the front end shake, and that's with the hands on.
These things didn't start happening until I had my front bearings replaced last year, at 11k wtf, and as I pulled from the shop I almost lost it due to the serious wobble. I went directly back and waited another hour while they tightened up the front just beyond spec and she seemed fine.
I had them check again a few months back and they didn't find it, but I'm going back tomorrow before my extended warr expires, because they'd likely find it after that.
