I just recently purchased the Ohlins #6 from Howard which I will have either Monday or Tuesday of next week. I've read through several threads on the Ohlins as a whole but more interested in those that have installed the #6.
One question that came up between myself and another forum member was about the shock bolt/swing arm bolt hitting the exhaust pipes. For those that have the #6 have any of you experience this at all? If you have what did you do to rectify the problem? I will be replacing my existing Bad Dad Long Stroke pipes with CFR exhaust along with installing the #6 and would hate to dent up my new pipes.
Next, I see that a lot of you are swearing by Ohlins. And while I have no doubt that Ohlins are great shocks, one of the reason I ordered them, for those that have the #6 I'm looking for recent experience without having to go through a million threads. I'm looking for what worked for you what adjustments had to made and when, riding experience ect. I think this would answer a lot of questions for those of us that are either thinking about purchasing and or have already purchased them. Thanks for any input.
Oh and yes I have had an extensive conversation with Howard already about them but want others opinions and experiences. Thanks!

How long are the new shocks? How long are the shocks you are currently running? If the shocks are longer and the axle interferes with whatever exhaust you use you may have to space the muffler(s) more outboard to clear the axle. My Ohlins are 13 1/4" long and replaced the 12" stock flhx shocks but my exhaust does not interfere in any way with the axle.
Sag settings are important to the overall balance of the bike. The damping clickers are up to you. Take measurements, note where the clickers are set and record any changes you make. There is no 1 correct setting for everybody, it's up to you to find out what you like. Don't be afraid to make changes but make sure you write them down. Don't trust your memory. And this goes for any suspension component or brand. Take notes!!!!

Right now I'm running the Legend Air System. Expanded all the way out the shocks don't come close to exhaust. The Ohlins are the same size you have, 13 1/4. Good to know information and I'm sure Howard will talk me through everything once I get them on. Concerning your ride was the effects felt immediate or was it over time and several adjustments?

did you ride around with the bags off while in the adjusting process or remove them when you made the changes and reinstall them? im paying for my 6's in the morning
on my 2011 FLTRX it came with 12" shocks , I put the #3-#3 on which are 12 3/4" tall , I run the Bassani Road Rage with a 4" muffler , my axle hit my muffler and I could not get it on , because it is hitting on the back side I marked the area that would not clear , put masking tape on this area and took a hammer and gently tapped that area flat like on stock pipes that have a axle recessed area on the muffler , once I got it I removed the tape , it looks like the mufflers came this way , it clears the axle and you can't see the area on the bike

Did the same thing with my Monster Ovals and my 13 1/4" Ohlin Shocks. Ball peen hammer and some painters tape.
