The issues are with the engine mounts. In order to do it, you would have to take off the front head on your engine and drill out the boss or put an 08 and later head on as that is where one end of the mount attaches. Then you would have to weld the other end of the mount onto the frame downtubes. You would also have to cut off the top mounting location that is on your 04 frame so it wouldn't interfere with the tank. So, to answer your question, yes it is a little extreme.
