Default Seat Mods

I'm going to be sending a couple of seats to Mean City to be reworked for my '12 Limited. I am 5'7" and recently had a '10 SG that was no problem to saddle. The Limited is 2" higher at the seat (per spec) and I'd like to get that 2" back - or some of it anyway, to be sure footed. As I look over teh seat mod options that MCC offers, there is a lot to consider. I don't want to change my seating position ( front to back, just have better reach to the ground. For those that have had MCC do the rework, what do you recommend to get the lowering only? Is the Memory Foam option worth the cash or a simple rework? Gel?

One of the seats I will send is the original HD seat from the Limited, the other is a '12 SG take off that I'll use when the Tour Pak is off. Thanks for any advice out there.

I had the double memory foam done 3 years ago
and I had them move me back as far as possible.
As a matter of fact I just sent it back last week
to get the cover re-done as I wore it out (cover)
that is. I highly recommend Allen and his staff.

You wont be disappointed with your new seats....Just talk to them and tell them what you want...they will work with you and give you suggestions...they are great to deal with....the memory foam is the ONLY way to go...stay away from gel....they tend to get warm in the summer.....to say the least...when MeanCity is done you will wonder why all seats arent made this way from the factory.

Default Deluxe seat

I just sent an e-mail to Mean City regarding my seat. I bought an 2011 Deluxe to replace my 2006 Heritage Softail. The seat on the Deluxe is an inch lower and it's pushing me forward at least a half inch or so. I've already changed the handlebars and risers because they were too close.

You guys seem happy with Mean City, but I'm on Long Island, I'd rather do it locally where we can experiment with me present.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Thom ...
