Question boom shakalaka boom

Hey all, I put the BOOM speakers in my street glide fairing two years ago. They are a big improvement over the stock speakers. Last year I put on the H-D vented lowers. Now I am thinking of adding the speakers to them. But since my hearing is getting worse, (I am going to try wearing ear plugs) I am wondering if I will even be able to hear the lower speakers since they are farther away than the upper speakers. Also if I have the fader turned on to fade out the uppers to hear the lowers, then whats the point? Thanks for any kind advice or comments. HDSG

It's not worth doing unless you use an amp IMO.

I agree 100%. They are farther away and the gas tank is between you and them. Without some added power, I am guessing you would not hear them over the others unless you about fade them out, like you said. My 02

My buddy did them (no amp)and they are loud, you have to get something done at the dealer to sync them up though.

Yep that is what he is talking about with having the dealer turn the fade control on, but there is more to it than that. You need to ad the pin outs for the rear speaker output. I know there are a few ways to do this and if you want to I think Harleypingman did a thread on adding them to his. He always claims to be a regular guy and not an audio expert, but he is very good at what he does with his stuff and also very helpfull in sharing what he has done and learned with good write ups and pics.
