Default engine light

I have an 08 ultra classic, when I start it the engine light stays on for about 5 seconds after the bike starts. Can anyone give me an idea what might be happening, or what I need to check? This is the only time it comes on. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like You Have a history Code. To find out what it is, turn engine run switch to run Then push and hold the odometer reset button while turning on the ignition switch. Release reset button when diag appears. You then press the reset button on on each one of the letters that are displayed to find out what code You have. Let us Know what code.

I had the same thing on my 02' Ultra, nothing was wrong with it. One of the experts should have an answer

Yep! It's telling you that you have a stored historic DTC.

You actually saw the following:

"diag"

P0131= front 02 sensor low or running lean
P0151= rear 02 sensor low or running lean
P0577= cruise control input error
B1006= accessory line overvoltage
no rsp= no response

Do you have ABS? Is your cruise control working? Do you run any accessories hooked up?

No ABS explains the no rsp, the P0131 and 151 are simply historic that at one time your 02 sensors sent a lean condition message, the cruise error can be explained as well so yes I would say the over voltage was probably something related to your ipod. If none of the codes come back, you should be all set.
