Question Headlights Bulbs

Wondering what your preference is for a headlight bulb based on quality, performance and looks on a 2001 Road King Classic.

PIAA has been the most reliable for me. Sylvania was real bright but only lasted 6 months.

You asking about the bulb or the lens? As far as looks go, all the bulbs are about the same with the exception of the color of light they emit. Sylvania Silverstars are bright but thy don't last as soft 02 pointed out. The brightest I have found so far is the PIAA Extreme White. A $50.00 bulb but they are really bright and I have almost two years on the current one. http://www.amazon.com/15224-Style-Xt.../dp/B00067BVDC
If you want to change the lens I would consider the new Trucklight LED phase 7. They are about 3 bills but will last forever. http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...ury-phase7.htm

Actually most people don't know Sylvania makes a motorcycle specific bulb its the ultra star H4ST! It has an extra filament support in the middle. Been waiting for the PIAA bulb to fail to get a new one but no luck yet.

My $50.00 PIAA bulb lasted only one year. I replaced it with a $25.00 Silver star. When I have the coin, I am going to order the Trucklite.

Ride safe, Bob.

I went through two of those, lasted less than 10,000 miles each. Went back to the bulb that came in my RK in June of 2005, still going strong.

Well I switched to DDM HID lights and Im not really impressed. Im still adjusting on it so not giving up yet. Watching this thread to see what is the best. You can replace your complete headlight with a Hella brand also from Rally lights dot com or something like that.

Hard to tell in the picture in this link but the Sylvainia Ultima has the same internal structure as the stock HD bulb. I am at 4500 miles and coming up on 6 months and still burning nice and white. If you ride any at night and are running a stock bulb you owe it to yourself to do something with it now. You wont regret the difference in light out put even if it doesn't last but a year. You can compare the difference in the inner support structure of the plain Silverstars and the Ultima in the store. There is a big difference.
