Got lots of advice on wax for blax ... Bought Turtle Wax Black Box and Mequiar's NXT. I tried them both with excellent results from both. I chose NXT because of the ease of use. Only one step, compared to 4-5 steps using Black Box. The time I save in waxing can be spent RIDING ... No brainer for me. Thanks to all who replied. Going to be 60 degrees on Sunday here in Pittsburgh - Guess i'll find out if the new wax job makes the bike faster !!!
Good point about having more time riding rather than waxing. I just ran out and bought the Turtle Black box after reading the other thread. Oh well, I'll just have to wax quicker. Hope it works like others have said.
I used the black box on mine when I did my final cleaning before winter. I am not obsessive about cleaning my bike, but I like it to look good. While the black box does take a few steps, I figure it isn't bad for as often as I'll actually do it. Plus it's not like I'm hand waxing a motorhome. I will say that it made my bike look REALLY black.
Crap! Now you tell me!! I ordered black box to see if I got better results than NXT. I found that the NXT didn't last. One hot day, 80+ degrees and it felt like my bike didnt have any wax on it after a day of riding and being parked here and there.
I had a black jet boat for many years and would run into this running the Colorado River in Nevada/Arizona.....wax didnt last, but those are extreme heats, 115+ and hard water, but I figured it would work out better on the bike. Not sure yet.....
