I think that has been a trend over the last year or more. You don't have to hear it from an editor to realize it. Just go to any large rally and look at the number of baggers vs the number of choppers. Most HD dealerships will tell you baggers outsell every other category of bike and have for the past several years. This is one of the reasons I am so frustrated with the magazines that are out there. Very little attention is given to real bikes. I'm sick of seeing the same old thing in Hot Bike, American Iron, etc. I think the media (TV and Mags) in general give themselves too much credit for the trends in this industry.

While baggers are getting more popular, remember, you can make numbers say whatever you want. Baggers are likely the most popular single bike class. But there are 4 other model classes (Dyna, Softail, VRod, Sporty). If you look at our poll, while baggers are the largest single class (leading Softy's by 32% to 29%), they are only 32% of the total H-D market on the forum. Non-baggers account for roughly 65%:
Dyna 20%
Softail 29%
Sporty 13%
VRod & Custom almost 2% (together)
comes to 64% (yeah, we lose a couple % to rounding I guess).
Over the years, and owning a lot of Baggers from the Early FlatHeads all the way to the new TwinCams, passing power is what I have always wanted. It always makes me smile when someone asks why do I like what I do?They never understand. For me, having more torque than you really need is what makes my boat float. So all my energy goes toward aquiring that torque. The kind of Roll On Torque I need can only come from Big Cubes.Nuff Said! You cannot possibly know what it feels like until you have tried it.You Big Inch Bagger riders know what I'm talking about!
I got rid of my Night Train and bought my SG just to be able to carry my own crap and put some serious miles on a bike. I got the HTCC 95" installed because I wanted a hot rod as well. Totally psyched by the combo and I love my HRB!
we could care less what you think....take the advice given

I gotta agree with most all of you---BAGGERS RULE. I've been riding them for the past 7 years now and came of a dyna---wont go back! Merry Christmas to all.

I'd have to agree. There ain't noth'in like hav'n a nice supply of TORQUE!
But Big Cubes are only half of it. It's best to have a nice Long Stroke to go with it!
Keeper Close To Square Dudes!
While I love my bagger I would trade it for a big block Boss Hoss anyday. This way I would have my bagger and the preformance I crave together in one package. []
