I'm new to this forum stuff and searching for some advice or help with some engine noise that just started on my 2011 street glide.
Like i said i have a 2011 street glide with roughly 8500 miles on it, recently i noticed a slight chirpping sound from the front end somewhere, this sound was only when it was warming up and occasionaly but now it seems to be getting more common. I cannot narrow down where the noise is coming from but sounds like it's louder on the left side of the engine but i cannot confirm that it is the engine or just a squeeky motor mount. To describe the chirpping better at first it was so slight i thought the vibration of the engine was sounding my bell underneith but soon found that it wasnt that and now it seems to be getting more common, i can hear it randomly at stop lights and sometimes while riding.
I appreciate the feed back.. The chirpping sound is present while idling and stopped it sounds like its coming from the fron of the engine near the forks but when i get under and listen it isnt coming from there just some place up front near the engine. i dont think it could be a slipping belt so soon, could it???
If you have checked over everything on the front end to make sure its all tight I would then pull off the outer fairing to see if your support brackets are broke.
I would also check the rubber bushings under your saddlebags where the mufflers mount. Mine dry out and will chirp like that so i spray a little WD40 on them and it quiets it down til i replace them.
