Interesting, I thought they were the Ulitmate seat.
If it's worse than your stock Ultra seat that is bad. I bought one of the newer Ulta seats because of the reviews on here and I could not stand it for over 50 miles.

I had a bad experience years ago when I had a Valkyrie. I also spent $900.00 for the 4 piece set and was never impressed. I had a question one time and the owner had an attitude with me. They will never get my business again.

I had an Ultimate on the Road Star I just traded for my Ultra Classic. That seat was great! I think the issue is that there is less room between the rider backrest and where the seat starts to go up on the tank. IMHO very little room to sit. I imagine this is the case no matter who makes the seat. Only variable is how your butt feels. I just had mine redone by MCC and while much better than stock I still feel pushed up into the tank.

I just bought a Ultimate seat from Des in Americane, it took me 9 hours to get home the second day, and it was very hot out 27 C (80F) but I found the seat very comfortable. Usually it would take a couple of hours before I was feeling pain and discomfort, than after that it would only take an hour or so till I felt the same pain. I bought the rain covers, and use them if it looks like it's going to rain out. Plus great service, found a small hole in the driver seat rain cover, had a new one in 2 days.
This is going to be the only seat I buy for my future bikes.

At least on some of those you can move around and stretch out, not so on the bike. You are very limited in your position choice, so I suggest another option ........ stop more often! I know, nobody wants to hear that and I myself am a long distance rider, but I find this works for me. Instead of riding three hours, then stopping for an hour and trying to stretch out the kinks, I stop every 80-100 miles and take a 5-10 minute break, walk around, take a drink, stretch ....... with that thought process, my *** and body are a lot happier after a 600 mile day. Don't get me wrong, you have to have a seat that is comfortable as you can find, but there is no perfect seat for sitting an extreme length of time, that's not what our bodies were designed to do.
#2 on what frog13 said. Often not so much the seat as it is riding position and getting opportunity to increase blood flow, as in more quick stops to stretch and walk.

Wow...I had the Ultimate on my old Yamaha Tour Deluxe and hands down, it was the most comforatible set I ever used. I'm surprized at how many don't like it. I guess seats are like shoes, they feel good in the store, then you buy them and after walking a mile they start hurting. I think we all been through many seats to try and find the perfect one. It's gets more difficult when your traying to make both the ride and spouse happy. I ended up with the studded Dual Touring Seat from Mustang and then I had to send to Mean City Cycles to have it lowered in the front because I'm 5'7" with 29" inseam. Once I got it back, I was a happy camper. That said, my riding buddy is 6'2" and he hates it when I let him try it out. I'm sure if you work with the folks at Ultimate they can make the seat fit right. Good luck...

For the record, Ultimate Seats are based near Toronto, Canada. hence the dot ca at the end. I have several friends who ride Yamaha Road Stars and you can't get them off their bikes to even try the seat. They love them. I was thinking of ordering one for my new SGS but if it raises me up at all, I'm screwed. With the stock seat, I can just flat foot the bike. I have to get a solo seat of some kind, but I'm starting to think they don't make a long distance solo seat......
