The weather is starting to get nice so i finally got the glide i bought in dec. out, rode about 150 miles and my tailbone hurts, i` m thinkin i need to upgrade the seat, thinkin about a mustang, i like the vintage solo i put on the streetbob but i`ll need a two up seat for the glide.I`m not so sure about them air shocks either they may need an upgrade.
The stock seat on a 2012 SG sucks. I have a Mustang Wide Tripper. Sleek low profile but very comfortable. When I took the stock seat off, it felt like it weighed about 6 ounces because of the light cheap foam used. The Mustang is top quality foam and heavier due to the much higher quality denser foam.
If I were lookin' for a 2-up seat, I'd look closely at the Harley Hammock seat. It's the one they put on Ultra CVO's. Page 346 in the 2012 parts catalog. Part# 52000003, $500 without heat ($900 if you want a heated seat). So I would go to the H-D shop and sit on one of their Touring CVO motorcycles and see how you like it.
Regardless of what seat you buy, get some miles on it before deciding on new shocks. The seat may be the only thing you need.
I'm surprized to hear... I like the stock seat enough I don't really want to change it except for the look of the passenger section.
The seat on my superglide was a tailbone killer...
All i've done is dropped the shock pressure down to a couple lbs...

I've found the stock seat to be pretty decent as well, but plan on an MCC mod to make it the best it can be.
I've studied the shocks pretty thoroughly, and will install HD premiums as soon as some cash frees up.
Your tail bone hurts?
I know my 09 stock shocks forever had me bottoming out and hyper extending regardless of various pressure in them. Are you bottoming out?
