Default 2008 Street Glide Rim Size Question

What's the largest size rims I can put on my 2008 Street Glide without changing the bike's stock geometry? Is it 21" front and 18" rear?

21" front will change the geometry. It's debatable whether the change is enough to adversely affect the ride. I put on a 18" rim from a later Glide on my '08. I think it looks lots better than the original 16", but admittedly, not better than a 21". I guess that's debatable too.

21" front is the highest you can go without doing any major modifications - check out our tech articles on our website that explain further size and fitments for your year/style touring bike. On our homepage, select tech articles on the main toolbar. PM me if you have any further questions, Ryd Safe.

I just put on the 21/18 combo and it's worth every penny

Some swear by their 21s some have switched back to 18s or 19s. I personally wouldn't go more than a 19" with the 130/60-19 that comes on the 11-12 CVOs, but I don't know of anyone making a 19x3.5 wheel that will match a 18x4.25 rear that you need for a 08 SG. You could just go with a 19" Agitator contrast chrome in front & leave your stock wheel in back since it doesn't show that much. If you decide to go with a 21" up front you should lower the front by at least 1". It's your call.

How do you lower the front fork? Does that involve shorter springs? Will I loose an inch of travel?
