Default Chrome caliper insert not chrome?

I purchased the chrome caliper insert when I had the chrome front end done. It looks the same as the stock. Anyone else notice this? It's brushed looking, same as the stock.

I think that it is all the perforated holes that give the illusion that it isn't chrome.

The stock ones are stainless. I spent less than 5 minutes polishing them on a buffing wheel and they are bright

Thanks for the response. i paid for the chrome and there was some question with the parts department and they said it was "chrome" but they do not look chrome. i should have the dealer buff them out. Thanks for the info.
