Default Taller Bars??

Finally got a good long 150 mile ride in on my new to me 05 Ultra.

My stock bars are to low. I like the angles and the width... but want them taller.

So... Looking for as tall as I can go with stock cables... Stock style.. just taller.

What do you recamend?

Brand and part number please?

Thank you
Reaney in NH

When i get around to changing mine, i plan to go with Klock Werks, Ergo bars.

They advertise them to be compatible with stock cables/ wires.

The Ergo Up bars are 2" taller than stock...

I am getting ready to install a set of Klockwerks ergo back bars on my 2010 street glide. they are two inches taller and back to the rider. Work with stock cables, brake lines and wiring.

Wild 1 makes a 12.5 ape that you can still use your stock wiring with no extensions. I have the 14 inch ones and all my wires went through the bars. The TBW I did not have to extend, but the other wires stuck out about 4 inches from the hole. I had to extend those.

I have a 2002 electra standard. I put 10" paul yaffe classic apes. They measure 12". All the wires and cables worked. The wiring was not even close to an issue. All the cables are at there max. Would not be able to go any taller with stock cables.

Thank you for the info. But $1000.00 to me is a LOT of money. I love how some of you guys throw $1000 bills around.

I do all my own work on everything I own. I'm really hoping to keep the cost if this mod to under $250.00.

Thank you for the info.

Thank you very much for responding. These look interesting.

Did you install yourself? Did you run into anything unexpected?
Did you run your wire internal or external?
Did you reroute your cables?

How do the feel? I really like all the angles on the stock bars... But they just feel to short. My concern is the way the bars are bent forward... that they will be moved out of reach. Can they be adjusted back towards the rider?

Thank you for your time and insight.

I have mine all the way forward. You can adjust them back to you. I am 6 foot and the stock bars felt like I was leaning forward and down. These are great. I installed them myself. Took about 4 hrs with tear down and reassembly. I think I could do them in under three hrs if I needed to now. I ran the wires external. Could have ran them internall if I wanted to. There are no big bends in the bars so I think it would have been really simple. The wiring was plenty long enough. I ran them external with black zip ties on black bars, cant even tell. Did not have to reroute cables. everything worked fine. The only hicup was the brake line. It is really tight, but it works. The bars were around $80 from MandM. I also ordered a single handlebar riser clamp. It was $15. I also ordered polyurethan riser bushings for $10. I ordered new grips, but I guess you could use the old ones. Good luck. I cant get pics to load right now but if you search my previous posts I have some on here.
