When I had mine done my indy left the green plug right at the top bend of the PYO bagger bars and I had plenty of slack to reconnect it when done. Not sure how tall your bars are or what kind but something to think about.

No, i cut mine about 3/4 " from the green plug on both sides of the plug. Peice of cake, just make sure you lable the wires(The side that has only 3 colors) so you know what wires to solder to on the opposite side of plug.Top of plug where clip disconnect is at : red goes to brown, white goes to blue, black goes to black. Bottom of plug red goes to red , white goes to purple, black goes to grey. If you seperate the top 3 wires (red, white ,black ) from the bottom 3 wires it simplifies it. I think! lol! Hope that helps.

Did you add a section of wire to make up for the length of the plug, or just cut out plug and solder the ends?

I went with 10" MBB, Cut plug out and soldered wires. No wire extensions.
