I have a 10" in dark tint that I used on my 09SG. It worked GREAT but looked like I was riding behind a top hat...goooofy. IMHO. With that said I'm putting it on my 12 FLXSE3 tomorrow because I'm preping the bike for a 4000 mile ride to Key West. On long trips I take function over form.

Don't think that I'd want one.
Don't care for the looks.
Prefer the traditional look.

When did LRS start putting advertisement on their shields? I just got two and both have an LRS emblem on the front of the shield. Does anyone know if this is removable?

I've been after LRS to come out with a gradient windshield for a while. this would really help the looks of the flat top windshield. Dark at the bottom clear at the top. The top edge would not be so defined.

This would also give you a clear area of the windshild to look through when needed.

Got the 11 inch light tint. Works good and can still see over if need be.

Stang: Thanks for the pics. I actually think the shorter versions of the flat-top don't loom bad. You say the 8" is good for shorter trips. How tall are you??? I am 5' 8" and use an 8" Ultra dark. I find it is ok on flat roads but cuts right into my line of site on any kind of grade. That is why I was thinking of going with the 7".

Texas: Great idea on the gradient tint. Maybe they will put one out.

Airborne: My Ultra has it. It is etched in so no it can't be removed.

2manytoys: A tophat is exactly how I described the look when talking to LRS.

I'm 5'10 but I'm running a 9" flat top because I had mean city cycles modify my stock seat to move me down and back, I went down an inch with the seat and got a 9", if your seat is stock I would think the 9" is the ticket for you. If my seat was stock, I would have bought the 10".

The logo on mine looks like a wart not etching.

I have the LRS 9" dark tint and I love it. I have ridden several hundred miles 1 and 2 up. I asked the OL what she thought and she gave her approval. I like it. What do I care what others think. When they pay the note they can do what they like.
