I ride with a guy who has the 4's and I have the 3.5' We both agree that his have a lower rumble at idle, but mine are louder on the throttle. Mine dont sound raspy like some say, but like everyone says sound is subjective. By the way a good cam will also play a role in sound

Personal preference... I think. I just put on V&H dresser duals with 4" Rhineharts and love them. they have a deep rumble at speed which does not interfere with the stereo. When I ramp the throttle it is loud. The deep sound vibrates through you... Just Awesome.

I agree here. I believe the 3-1/2's are a little louder, but the 4's have a deeper sound. Not to loud when idling, so I can sneak out of the neighborhood in the early mornings, but when you get on it, they come alive with the deep rumble and plenty of sound. I had them on my 2010 FLHTC, and just traded for a 2012 FLHTC. 4" Rineharts will be put on with the chrome tips before delivery. (SE air filter, cams and tuner too) I love the sound of them! JMHO.

Hatch.
+1, and you can probably get the 3.5's a little cheaper too.

So as a last ditch effort to see if i can make my pythons a liitle louder, i called drag specialties and talked to some technician. What an a$$hole. I guess he (they) are just to good to answer questions from non-dealers. I will make sure anything I purchase no matter what it is, doesn't come from drag specialties.....
