Fuel gauge stuck on full

Fuel gauge stuck on full
Hi everyone, I picked up a nice set of Screamin Eagle spun aluminum gauges from a friend for my 06 FLHX recently but the fuel gauge always reads full for some reason. I know it was working previously and if I hook up my old gauge it still shows the correct amount of fuel. Any ideas of what could cause this? Could it be that the gauges came off of a fuel injected bike and mine has a carb? I'm really at a loss here and would appreciate any insight I can get to fix this problem.

different type of sender.
the injected sender is Harley-Davidson #75279-06
and i have no idea if the wiring harness would need to be changed as well, and if it would even mount in your tank with out the EFI fuel pump which it mounts to.
you could probably get the gauge itself for less and easier

Wouldn't it be Sa-Weeet...
...if your gauge read full all the time cause your tank was really always full?
Oops, did I say that out loud?
I guess you could check the HD web site and see if spun aluminum faced gauges are available for your motorcycle.
If not, maybe the parts guy or service guy at your friendly, neighborhood Harley dealer would know what you could do.
If not, check out and independent repair shop.
Good luck!

I called the dealer and they had no idea. I do have a wiring diagram for my bike, does anyone happen to have one available for an 08 touring bike by chance? I can't imagine they are that different but I'll try anything at this point, I really like these gauges and want to keep them on there.
