barkingspud, I think the main difference is the opposing zippers but I suppose it depends on which of the 3-4 types of HD suitcases you refer to. I have the premium I think (come with the Limited). There are the deluxe which are a step down and the premiere which are a step up and hardsided. I would guess these are competing with the deluxe. Opposing zippers mean you can actually open the whole thing up.
I think I attached theirs here. My harley bag has the zipper across the top
I bought the four bag set last summer, frees up a lot of room laying in the bottom of the hard bags.Just gotta figure where everything is!!Very good idea, got rid of the big old rolled up toolbag.Didnt buy the hard bag liners, stuck with the HD bags.Zipper down the side almost got me to buy them.
A friend and I went in on a full set of four. Split the price and split the set. Worked out just right for the amount of tools we both carry. Good quality.
Anybody know if the tools in the full set are made in America? I refuse to buy imported tools but would like to order the full set. If they ate imported, I will just buy the bags.
Buy the bags and go to Harbor Freight. You can put together a nice set for less $$$ than buying the bags & tools together. Harbor Freight stuff certainly isn't the quality of tools I have in my garage but these are tools to use out on the road, which means that most won't (hopefully) ever be used. I took the tool list from the Inovative Storage Solutions site and the list from the Windzone kit http://www.beza.biz/windzone/catalog/ek1hd .
Then, I figured out what would be needed from the 2 lists and put mine together from Harbor Freight stuff. I put tools in the 2 L-shaped bags and split my first aid kit between the 2 straight bags. I've probably got enough tools in the 2 L-Shaped bags to completely disassemble my Ultra-Classic on the side of the road. Those little bags will really hold a bunch of stuff.
I bought the 4 pouch set in Milwaukee last August. I love them, gave me back some space and I have only used one side to put stuff in these. I can also still put my Reda gas can on top of them.
Glad to see this thread. I saw these at Daytona in '09, but didn't get a web site or phone and had not been able to find them since.
I may just buy myself a set for the wife's birthday.......
