On a touring bike, the Rineharts can be too much...Mine were LOUD until I repacked them(there is no packing stock). They sound good now and are not as loud. Loving it...
I have the samson true duel long cannons on m 05 FLHRI. I wouldn't go any other way! You'll never find another true duel with louder, better sound. JMO
Neither. Don't get an "expensive education" like I did. Had RH on my 103 Ultra, and took 'em off. Hated 'em. Left side came out of the back jug & right down to the left. WAY too close to alot of electical stuff, from what I was told (even AFTER I decided that I hated them.) V&H Power Duals, and High Output slip-ons now. Do RH slip-ons if you think you have to have something RH.
I just bought a new 2012 EGUL as well. I included Rinehart Xtremes True Duals 3.5 in deal, but having second thoughts about having them installed. Is it just me, or are the Rineharts as ugly looking as they do in pictures. That cross of pipes, seems to me to kill the bikes looks.
I also looked at classic Rineharts (photos), and really dont care for them either. It also appears to be a heat problem on left side passenger.
1 - Are they as ugly in real as they are in pictures?
2 - Would I be unhappy with slip-ons instead?
I don't think the passenger heat is bad...I don't ride back there but my wife tends to complain about everything and she hasn't said a word...I hated the look of the extremes too...
Of the two, Rinehart has the much better reputation. The RG I bought came with the V&H True Duals and they're pretty nice and worth considering as well.
awesome input, thanks all. I'm going to look into the V&H.
I have had a set Samsons Black Legends on my Night Train for 4 years and love the look, power, sound (and price). Just yesterday, I noticed some discoloration on both pipes right where the integrated heat shields end and the rear of the pipe starts. Still love them.
Rush true duals if just the head pipes or thunderheader true dual thunder for complete set up. both of these makes a good neat install without the crazy pipes look...
