Worth the money? Well, probably. But to be truthful, I bet their profit margin is immense given that it probably takes 20 seconds in a mold to make one.
Another KW owner/fan...started w/6.5" & upgraded to 8.5" after I got my 3-pouch w/s bags. Sold the 6.5" to another member within a day...very popular & X1000 better than stock. Heck, holding your hand in front of face is better than stock...
I have the 6.5 on my 2012 SG and the difference is night and day between the stock shield. I am 5'10" and I tested the 6.5 and the 8.5 at my dealer and the 6.5 worked just fine for me and still had the SG low profile style.
Well worth the money. I'm 6'0 with a 33 inch inseam. I started with a 8.5 inch then I thought it was too tall...with to a 6.5 and couldn't wait to put the 8.5 inch back on.
Been running this shield for 4 yrs now. Years ago I was part of a "demo ride" from KlockWerks where the shield(s) were sent to your house for a trial. 2 different sizes for the bat crowd and the shark crowd. You used the shields and then sent them on your dime to the next person on the list. I then ordered the one I liked.
Having said that I just ordered a 10" LRS to try out. Figured it was time to try something else. But the LRS will have to knock my socks off for it to replace my KW
