I have a 6.5 KW on my Softail Deluxe. Not exactly a good comparison since the seat height is so low on the Deluxe but it does work well. I had the "standard" 4 in that comes on the Batwings (Kuryakyn) and it buffeted so badly, I could not keep my eyes focused!!!

This is dark smoke and I would prefer a clear as the top edge is just barely below my line of sight in a comfortable Road position. Since I only paid $65 for it used (locally), I got a great value and can't bitch!!!

They do work but I do not have anything but the straight 4in to compare it to. There is a dramatic difference "at speed" since the front end gets pushed down (easier to see over it) and the air seems to get pushed even higher up. The smaller 6.5 is rock steady at highway speeds and little to no vibration (just what the fairing does).

It get's pretty windy after that but like most other have said most of it comes from below. This is the only shield I've tried and this is my first batwing fairing so
you should keep that in mind. But IMO it's works very well.

I cruise at 75 MPH on the highway with my 8.5" KW, no problems at all, works great.

This is my first batwing, but I put the 6.5" on and it was like night and day. I don't do much more than 75 mph but I do about 50 miles each way to work and it is wonderful.

I guess I should have added that my opinions were based on no helmet, when I rode once with a full faced it was quite loud behind that 8 1/2"

I tried the 6.5" and get more buffeting than I like, Dealer just got my 8.5" in and I am swapping it on Friday. Compared to the stock sheild it's a wonder.

I ended up with the LRS 7" on my Ultra Classic. Got a great deal on it and a 6" for the son-in-law. It is not the Stealth model. I just don't like the look of that type of shield. Mine is in dark tint also but I can still see thru it at night if need be. I can't bring myself to pay the price of a KW. 2 guys I work with run the 6.5 and 8.5 KW and love them though. I am thinking of ordering a taller flat top from LRS for mine for when the wifey rides.
