okay, I have been lurking for a while and finally pulled the trigger on an 02 electra glide classic firefighter special edition today
The seller who bought it down in Florida told me that the only thing that does'nt work is the radio. I figure it is either a 50 cent fix for a fuse or worse case 500 for a biketronics replacement. this bike onlly has 5461 miles on it so i really can't think why the radio would have totally taken a crap.
Anyone got any ideas? is there a common issue with these? hoping to get it going for the ride home from nashville don't even know where the fuses are This is my first HD so I am definetly gonna be hangin out here for a while. ( feel like I am becoming a dad for the first time again)
Any help you guys can provide would be appreciated.
The radios taking a crap on these bikes is very VERY common. There is a place that repairs them (iron cross audio i think) but I'm with you on just getting a replacement. I did the biketronics/sony setup on mine. I know many are happy with the Sony radios but mine did develop problems pretty quickly and another friend (that's on this forum) had the same problem with his Sony.
My first Harley was an '02 electra glide....awesome bike. Congrats on the purchase.
Congrats on the low miles bike! Just nicely broken in for you. As for the radio, you can check connections if you can get to them. Does it come on at all? If not it could be a blown fuse that should be under the left cover.

Good luck with it.
Am being told it wont come on at all. Thanks for the info. Gonna check when I get down there.
