>>> As well, if it's as good as the reports claim then why not use it.
The reports that you state are mostly done by that company, have been through these types of posts so many times that it leaves a sour taste for me personally. Every time someone brings up the "A" word, it brings about numerous reports of all things from 30+ mpg better runs better over 1000 degrees and more rediculous claims, and always offered on the amsoil webpage. Why only on their web page is it so gerat? I think you get the idea here.
LOL.. I hate the Oil Wars myself. The only thing I can say is I can pick Amsoil up at some of the local Napa stores, and at the local FleetFarm stores for about $8 a quart.. I'm going to try Mobile 1 after this tankfull of Amsoil that I currently have.. But so far I'm pleased with the Amsoil.. My thighs aren't burning as much on hot days!
Actually, if you buy Amsoil MCV buy the case and become a distributor for a small fee ( you don't have to sell it except to yourself) you can get it for $5/qt. I use it in my other vehicles and on the Amsoil site they have a special page (pdf file) showing the test results and they beat every other oil, including Mobile One in every category. The oil, in my opinion, cannot be beat. You should not judge a product based on the pushingness of the rep.... but.... to each their own. :-)
Slide up to the Oil forum in the tech section. The "tests" done by the various manufacturers show the results wanted to be shown. Pococj did some tests at a lab, you can read them for yourself. It's an unbiased test, no personal interests...you will be surprised. In the end, use the oil that makes you feel the most comfortable.
>>>You should not judge a product based on the pushingness of the rep.... but.... to each their own. :-)
This is true, but how much belief can you put on a company blowing their own horn too? Independent tests other than the Amsoil site don't quite say the same thing that they do as far as I have seen. I just get tired of hearing all the boasting that amsoil does about their product. That's why I run Mobil 1 V Twin and feel that it's the best oil for me, again JMHO
Thanks Mac.. will take a look at the post in the oil section. And thanks for the 'welcome' to the forum. I am new to the Harley
world but have owned 5 bikes and been riding since my teens. Just bought a '05 Road King Classic, Lava Red Sunglo and have
already ordered $2000 worth of addons and accessories, including Rinehart pipes..... and yes, I am putting Amsoil in my bike <wink>
