I use it, wouldn't pay $11.00 for it. Go to there website and you can buy it online. I paid for the prefered customer package and got it for almost 1/2 of what you quoted. I don't like their sales pitch but it is good oil. I changed it 4000 miles ago and it still looks clean. I'll change the filter @ 5000 miles. Molbil 1 is suppose to be excellent along with red line.
I ran it in alot of my stuff, however not for long. I think its a great oil, however evertime I run into a Amsoil rep somewhere I leave wanting to puch him in the throat, I stop to browse and they ask what oil im running in this and that, if its not amsoil hang on, your in for a ear full. I was also told by a local amsoil rep that I better run home and drain the Harley synthetic out of all three cavaties on my bike and replace with amsoil because It will destroy everything in a couple of thousand miles, He said Harley is replacing parts left and right because of their synthetic oil. Needless to say, that was all I needed to hear. I never bought amsoil again.
I agree with most here, probably a good oil but the reps are much too pushy for me and you cannot readily find it on the road if you need to top off. Don't like to mix oils even though you can.
I have used Amsoil in the ultra with good results. Fortunately I can get it at the local Autozone. But after reading posts here I tried the Mobil 1 and I like it better. it turns over easier on cold mornings, and the oil pressure stays up better on hotter days. I can't address other issuses as I never experienced any unusual wear anywhere. Probabaly both good products though. The Mobil 1 is $2 less a quart too!
Thanks for the input, I wasn't real impressed with the sales techniques myself, my thought is to be able to buy and share with my bros the oil at cost. This way we all don't have to signup to get it. As well, if it's as good as the reports claim then why not use it. The Harley oil runs at 9.49 per quart for syn3, we can get the amsoil at about 5.25 a quart (when you buy a case at a time). So to me, better oil, cheaper price, why not. I'd even allow for a little markup so a guy can make a buck or two but not if he's trying to get rich on one sale and tell me I'm a dumb A$% for running anything else.
