Find an independant shop and see if they can get you a better price. I get cheaper prices on my HD stuff from the independant shop than at the dealership!
marketing. It happens all the time were I work and I try to tell people when I can.
by the way I think I paid 650 for laced wheels ?(only thing did not really want)but it was take this one or wait.
They could call it the "need a wrecker" upgrade. Naaaa... lace wheels sound better.
Heck if you can afford the $$$ to upgrade to a less expensive, hard to clean, have to ture, wheel..... then surely you won't mind paying for a wrecker when you have a flat, since you can't plug it on the side of the road & hobble home or to a shop....
give the company a break,,,, they need to cut costs,,, lowered employee wages, cut benny's,
over price acc'ys.... for what a teeny weeny little profit of 300million,,
How about the extra labor of shutting down the assembly process, and loading a differenct wheel, then shutting down again and going back to the "default" wheel during manufacture....I'm sure this has at least something to do with the added cost...
