Default New Math?

Maybe someone can answer this one for me...

Why are chrome profile laced wheels a $450 option on the '07 FLHRS when they list for $50 less a wheel vs. the stock cast slotted discs?

Chrome profile laced - 44605-05 = $449.00 ea.
RK custom slotted cast - 41122-04 = $500.00 ea.

So, we put a less expensive wheel in place of a more expensive wheel and pay $450 for an upgrade???

I've been schooled in Mech. Eng., but this must be some kinda new math they're teachin out there?

HD can find more ways to get money outta me than the wife.

Educate me! ...awaiting the laughs

O.K. And the Question is ?
Find an independant shop and see if they can get you a better price. I get cheaper prices on my HD stuff from the independant shop than at the dealership!

The price on the profile lace rims are $449 a piece not for a pair. You pay $450 from the factory for a set not a piece.

You missed the point - the laced wheels cost less to buy than the stock ones, so why is it an UPGRADE when you order the bike with them?

They could call it the "need a wrecker" upgrade. Naaaa... lace wheels sound better.

Heck if you can afford the $$$ to upgrade to a less expensive, hard to clean, have to ture, wheel..... then surely you won't mind paying for a wrecker when you have a flat, since you can't plug it on the side of the road & hobble home or to a shop....

It's because usually, one guy points things like this out, and noone else gives a poop...
And HD loves it that way...

I've given up bitchin, what's the point...

It's like the car repair commercial, wher the guy's at the golf course
are braggin about how much they paid for the repair...

Nough Said?

It a Harley, not a Honda... (Still gripesmy azz)

How about the extra labor of shutting down the assembly process, and loading a differenct wheel, then shutting down again and going back to the "default" wheel during manufacture....I'm sure this has at least something to do with the added cost...
