I read a lot of good reviews on this site about this cam but it seems everybody already has some top work done already! My bike is stock other than a SE air filter, rush slip on's and the wasted Harley download. I do plan to do some engine grades next year but prefer to do only the cams this year. Will this be a good choice to start and are there other mods I must do to keep the performance on par with engine currently stock? My mechanic charges $55 hour and has been a Harley certified tech for over 20 years so I think the cost install should be reasonable. I ride 2-up 50% of the time and my riding style is keep it below 85 most of time! I got 30K on the motor and do a lot of highway and back road riding only after motoing around the idiots in the city driving and texting on their cell phone!

I have the 625 in my Night Train. It needs compression above 11:1, and headwork will help quite a bit. It's also a little peaky, which is OK in a Night Train, probably not the best choice for a bagger.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Woods TW-555, and a buddy of mine is using the Cycle-Rama 575's and likes those with no head work. You might also want to look at the SE 255's.

You should really call Tman before installing those cams on a stock 96. I dont think there is enough piston to valve clearance for .625 lift. The 625 is the same cam a the tr555 just more lift. He does have some new 600 series cams. Check them out.
