Default chrome wheels

Have a 2010 limited and noticed yesterday that the chrome on the rear wheel is flaking off in large pieces. Anyone else have this???? bike has 15,000mi.

I had a set of Limited chrome wheels installed on my '09 Ultra Classic and so far still in good condition.

If you've had tires replaced, the chrome could have been damaged during the tire mounting process.

I believe you will need the wheel and tire warranty for this one.

my 2007 Road King Custom is doing the same thing, haven't really looked into a solution yet... obviously no warranty for me.

Reading threads about these wheels scares the heck out of me.I installed these wheels on my 09 Classic in the fall of 09 and haven't had any trouble yet.But last Nov when I rode the 60 miles to the heated building where i store it,there was a slight dusting of salt residue on the highway. It bothered me all winter that those wheels were sitting there corroding and flaking for the last 5 months(getting a little crazy in my old age). When I removed the cover on her last Tuesday, the wheels were the first thing i looked at....they were shiney as a new nickel...whew.I gave them a wash on the weekend and a good inspection, and they are as new.If this is the worst thing I have to worry about....life is good.
