The stock windshied on the road glide is completely usesless so you can't judge the bike on a "test" ride at the dealership. I bought a Klock Werks 12 incher to replace it and have very little buffeting anymore. I can also hear the radio without any issues.

If you want a true feeling of how the road glide might be then take out the road glide ultra. I believe it has a taller windshield from the factory.

Head winds rg is way better, cross winds eg is better, no wind is a toss up.

You can nearly always expect at least one of those remarks when you post anything.

Which deflectors, dragon wings?

I'm sorry, I can't comment on the batwing bikes. I've never ridden one. However, my RG had some pretty bad buffeting stock. I put some Hogg Chopps lowers on it along with a different windshield and now I get airflow from the rear blowing forward on my back along with a gentle breeze in my face from under the tank. I believe with both bikes it's just a matter of redirecting the airflow to where it's less burdensome, you're never going to eliminate it completely.

Just the stock bat wing deflectors on a limited fairing. On the lower edge of each side, hindged.

Couldn't be happier with my current set up. You can see below what I have on my 2012 RG custom. I'm 5'9" and I have no buffeting and the wind is perfect. I know I'm on a motorcycle but I'm not getting beaten up at all by the wind. Man, I love this bike!

Ride safe...

Default I own an Ultra & a Glide

The standard set up on the Ultra makes for plenty of head buffeting. So I changed that out for an 8" Klockworks windscreen which made a huge difference. The Glide on the other hand was customised fully before I picked it up, so I can't comment on the stock set up, but I do know that it has less buffeting than the standard setup on the Ultra. I also find that the Glide is a better ride.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
