Going to put 56569-09 Heritage Bars on my 11 RKC. I know I have to cut 3 notches in the throttle side, but do I also have to cut it back 1/2" to allow for the TBW sensor?
Just put these bars on my 2012 RKC yesterday. I removed 1/2" off the right bar and then cut the slots for the TBW. I also cut a hole in the bottom that pretty much matched the hole on the stock bars. Used a dremel for all the cutting. The notches which I thought would be the hard part were actually pretty easy. For the hole in the bottom I put a piece of blue painters tape over the stock bars hole and cut out the pattern with an exacto knife. I then pulled the tape off and placed it on the new bars and outlined the hole with a sharpie. I center drilled a hole and worked it up to an inch in diameter (same as the stock bar) and then drilled both ends up to 1/4". I connected the holes with the dremel and then used a file to smooth everything out. Worked out pretty good. Go slow. It took me about 5 hours to do the whole job. Be very, VERY careful with the TBW green plug. PM if you have any questions you think I can help with or just post them on this thread so others can see and maybe benefit. My sig pic shows the new bars.

That's the theory. I cut off 1/2" before notching and then the tbw bottomed out against the wire crease before it was completely seated. I measured the stock bars and the right side was not shorter than the left. Humm! I figured out you need 5 1/4" from the end of the bar to the wire crease to seat the tbw. Now maybe the wire crease varies between bars of the same part # a little bit, but measure first or you might end up modding the crease a little, like me.
Hey Pagan and klabus I've got the Heritage Style bars on my RK now I'm considering going to the Heritage bars and I'm going numb with all the research. It would really help those of us trying to make wise decisions. These are the dimensions of the Style Bars:
1)Height 8.5" (from the apex of the center arm that runs across the clamp to the apex where it begins to pullback)
2)Wide: 34" (from bar tip to bar tip)
3)Pullback: 11" (from the apex of the height to end of the bar)
and 4)Center: 9.5" (center across the clamp area)......
is there a way I could get you to take measurements of the 56569-09 Heritage bars? Your heights with you sitting on the bike would be great for refferance point.....for those of us agonizing with trying to find the right bars....thank you.

Harley lists the dimensions as:
Tip to Tip 32.5"
Base Width: 11.5"
Pull Back: 5"
Rise: 10"
I regards to the measurements you're seeking the numbers are approximates depending on where you see the apex compared to where I see the apex. Also my measurements are with the grips on and bars mounted so its not all that easy to measure. Here goes.
1. ~9.25"
2. ~34"
3. ~11"
4. ~9.5"
The bars are very similar with the biggest difference being the angle of the grips. I chose the 09 bars after going to the dealer and sitting on a Heritage and seeing how they feel. Here's a couple pics of me on the bike before and after with stock bars vs. the Softail bars. Doesn't look like much in the pics but it made a significant difference for me.
Thanks for the response Pagan, the measurements do sound similar. I guess the next step will be sitting on a Heritage? The bars look taller in your sig until you sit on the bike then it looks a lot like the 'Style' bars on my RK only with them as far towards me before bumping the speedo with full left turn. I would like to think its getting easier but its not.
