+1, it's all about knowing beorehand what you would like to get out of your cams. For me it was better low end torque and not so much the high end speed thing..jmo

I installed the w555 cams and just ordered a set of se255's. The w555's come on a little late for me (2700) and the dyno charts I've looked at after the fact show the se255's comming on sooner (2300). I also picked up some top end noise at 2300 that I'm trying to get rid of. I know I'll loose a little hp and torque with the 255's but if they come on sooner I feel I'll be happier because most of my touring is 2 up and alot of it is backroad. All I'll be out is a few gaskets if I want to put the W555's back in I can sell the 255's for about what I put in to them used.

You will be very happy with the results if you are looking for that little extra get up and go with two up. Good luck, fun little project.

I know some very knowledgeable techs who think very highly of SE cams. I've heard them remark that they perform well in the proper environment without objectionable side-effects, like valve noise and other woes after installing them. I wouldn't hesitate buying another one in the future, but I don't race my bike and just want it to perform at its best where I ride.

I agree with the others. I do t think the number. Has anything to do with the torque range not like the rearend on a car

Oh the 255's will definitely come on sooner. Heck, they are in their powerband before you start the engine.

I am very pleased with the SE255 cams, I ride 2 up alot and I have more get up and go now when i need it, As for noise, very rarley do I hear noise and only when cold for a very short time if any, I also put the SE adjustable tapered push rods in and took a toothpick and applied loctite so not worried bout coming loose, I had to take apart a few times during install and the loctite made it harder to get in and out so I know it will do it's job on keeping tight... I was not wanting a hotrod just something that would blast me thru a situation if need and these cams will do that, Hell I can hit 110mph in a very short time, my buddies with a night train and a dyna wide glide used to walk away from me, not any more... I am getting it dyno'd tuesday, maybe I wasted $200 maybe not I guess I will see.. I do have this air slamming noise thru the intake only at 3000rpm and one guy here said is did that at a different rpm and the type of intake and length of exhaust could change at what rpm air slamming will occur, gettn dyno just to be sure it's not a lean condition at 3000rpm, which I doubt cuz keith at fuel moto made my map and we tried several and could not eliminate nor move that noise..

SE Smog cams? I cant believe that BS is still flying around here. Weve been getting low to mid 90's hp and 105-110 tq with SE255s with V&H Powerdual head pipes and good mufflers. Aint seen anywhere near that torque with the w555s, usually in the high 90's

I know a guy and his dad that run SE257s in thier 107s making just under 120 hp and over 120 tq! Smog cams? Yeah right!!!

The SE203 and SE 204 are EPA legal cams. The 203 is the cam recommended for the 05 fatbov Annv model that came with the 95 engine and the 204 is legal for use on the touring 103 engines all per the catalog.

I have used the 204 in my fatboy and plan on using them in my 103. Just because they're 49 state legal or "EPA" doesn't mean they are not good cams.

255's give the most torque down low in the rpm range. Got em on my 2010 Streetglide with 103 Stage 2 kit and D&D Fatcat exhaust. Dyno shows 102lbs torque beginning at 2500rpm's.
