Thought I'd post some pics of my process with the black out. I was looking online thinking about just going with the black powder coated slider when I came across willyshiny.com and decided to go with the wheels and the spacers too. Joe at willyshiny is the best to deal with and his packaging for shipment is second to none. I wanted something different than the black caps that cover the ends of the factory axle so I went with a Paul Yaffe flush axle with the domino cut ends. I removed the headlight trim rings, front turn signals and mounts, rear strut covers, rear turn signals and brake light mount, sandblasted them and had them painted to match the vivid black. My next step is to powder coat the crash bar, docking hardware and passenger backrest frame then get my new yaffe monkey bars and edge cut levers on along with an open AC.

Any comments or suggestions would be great, I'm kind of up in the air about getting the tank console painted to match.

How black do you want to go?
I tried for contrast.
You could do your exhaust.
I used black contrast parts from Covingtons and black ceramic rotors from Lyndall Racing Brakes and wheel spacers from ***** Shiny.
Painted speaker grills black
Powdercoated engine and bag guards, passenger footboards. Black console insert

Brendanstl: Question for ya man, I am in the process of blacking out all the chrome on my streetglide. I have been having a hard time finding black front turnsignals, I have found some on ebay and was considering just getting mine powder coated but was told they dont go back together very well. Any advice?

I think you should do a complete black exhaust and do something black with the A/C. That should just about do it.

FSC,

I took mine off, sandblasted them and then had them painted, they went back together great. When you take the turns apart don't worry about disconnecting the writes from the plug end, I went through all the hassle doing that to one if them when I realized that you can disconnect them at the bulb end and its a lot easier to get them apart that way to paint, same with the rear.

Cool I will look into this, I have the rest of the front down getting powder coated right now. I plan on dropping everything else off all at once when I have some down timed planned might not be till this winter. Living in Wyoming we are limited on riding time so I hate to have it down during said time.

Yes...I like the clean look. I think a black exhaust would look good.
