The XM module is from HD an adds XM functionality to your factory radio.

Ok, so the XM module is completely seperate from a GPS. So if I use this, I can use my old car GPS when needed then.
I am sorry if my questions seem elementary, but this is a little new to me.

It's actually the XM radio component. IIRC if you run the XM module you'd use the GARMIN 660 not the 665. With the 665 the touch screen on the unit acts as the controller for the XM radio. If you have the XM module installed you don't need that. You'd change channels and modes using the audio controls on the handle bars and everything would be displayed on the face of the factory radio. It does cost more to go that way but it does make a good integrated package. The 2 main points being that you can change channels without removing your hands from the grips and you'll get turn by turn directions in all modes not just AUX.

If you already have a GPS, I'd say keep it and buy the radio by itself. Then you are not tied into keeping either of them if you want to change in the future. This could save you a lot of money, too (radio is, what, $70, and Zumo is $400?). There are ways to mount them both together, or interchange them. We make it easy to mount both or either(http://www.leadermotorcycle.com) but we aren't qualified to give you wiring advice! :-)
