I have a 2007 ultra classic. I noticed today they I have a small leak coming from the clutch cable on the engine side. Is there a seal that needs to be replaced or what!? Thanks for any info you can provide me
I noticed the same thing before I changed out my handle bars and cables. Have you tried tightening the cable a tad? That might do you right, but its not hard to change the cable, so why not go ahead and knock it out just for the peace of mind.
I have the same slow leak. I will wait to fix when I need to do something else in that area. Not showing a loss on the trans dipstick so not real worried. While you are looking I have seen some posts about the steel brake line for the rear brake getting a hole worn in it. When I checked mine it seems to be good but the clutch cable goes over top of the brake tube right after the forward turn out of the trans cover. The convoluted tube on the brake line was pushed forward past the point of contact with the cable and the cover on the clutch cable is worn through at that point. I pulled the convoluted tube back between the cable and steel tube and put a cable tie on it.
Well I did what you said! Tighten it alittle! And I guess I tighten too much. Yep!! Broke the clutch cable! . Ohh well that's what I get I guess for not knowing anything about it. I guess that little o-ring was leaking alittle. Now I will b heading to the Harley shop to get a cable!! lol. Lucky I got the screw/stud part out of the cover! Will see what happens next! lol
