Stock headers, Samson Rolled Thunder ovals... Good sound at idle and around town -- slightly intrusive at 80+ mph... But then again, what isn't? Still can hear the radio, and have a good "bark" when I really get on it.
The only other option I've considered is Rineharts or V & H ovals....
put rinehearts on frieday ,all down-loads and serts were done at dealer , today the engine light comes on after 5 mins of riding ,and stays on ,anybody have a clue to what the cause is? will call dealer tomorrow HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BE SAFE OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like no one's running with stock exhaust. Are they too tame?
They sound like you're riding a metric cruiser, and have so many baffles in them I'm amazed any exhaust comes out! Does that answer your question?
I'm with MaineUC, I had SE pipes put on before the bike even left the dealer (had to do something while I was researching the best pipe for a bagger!) Actually I have them wrapped up and should put them up for sale (the slipons, I can get the part # for anyone interested), they were good sounding and decent performing pipes.
I'm currently running 2-1 Thunderheaders. Pretty loud, but not the loudest out there. They have a nice deep rumble at idle and low speeds, and the same at highway speeds (not too obtrusive to either me or my wife). When you are getting on it they are quite loud though.
